Panthera Sleep Research Grant

Investigator-Initiated Research Overview

The goal of the IIR grant is to allow independent investigators an opportunity to contribute scientific and clinical knowledge regarding the use of Panthera products in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

Support will be provided in various forms, including funds ($10,000.00) and Panthera D-SAD oral appliances. Panthera may also offer clinical research support, if needed on a case-by-case basis.

Research Grant Guidelines

The investigator will manage all IIR studies. Study management includes planning (study design, statistics, etc.), initiation, data collection and analysis, and overall investigation (good clinical practice). All studies will need to conform to the principles of ethical research. Other investigator responsibilities include submitting/presenting abstracts at relevant meetings.

    Review and Evaluation of the IIR

    Panthera’s Clinical Advisory Committee (CAC) panel will review and evaluate all investigator-initiated research proposals for medical and scientific merit. The submissions will be anonymous to prevent bias and will be provided to the committee for review. The CAC panel is comprised of individuals with clinical and research expertise in the field of dental sleep medicine.

    Dr. Sparreboom-Kalaykova’s research proposal was selected through an extensive and anonymous review process by our dedicated committee , distinguished by its innovative approach to Orofacial Pain, Dysfunction, and Dental Sleep Medicine.

    About Dr. Sparreboom-Kalaykova:

    • Assistant professor and specialized dentist at Radboudumc, where she leads multidisciplinary education, research, and patient care
    • Board Member of the European Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (EADSM) and the European Academy of Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction (EAOPD)
    • Active in the Dutch Society for Gnathology/Orofacial Pain and Prosthetic Dentistry (NVGPT)
